Golfapalooza XXII- It Takes A Village

Updates

Gents,
It's over. Fini. Se acabó. Es ist vorbei.
One of the toughest days of the year is always Tuesday after Columbus Day. Re-entry is horrendous! Stuff's piled up that you should be doing but you can't focus because you keep thinking of another funny thing that happened over the weekend....just a web of hazy thoughts and soreness combined with dread that it'll be another 361 sleeps until we do it all again (only 246 working days, which when you factor out vacation and sick time, you're like 225 days...but i digress). Truly one of the best trips ever for me. Had a ton of laughs and hung out with a great many of you. For me, I feel great pride in how you all want those Tags and look forward to 2025's version to see what happens then! The accommodations at the courses and the hotel were as good as ever. The company was the best it could be, Just nothing but great the entire time.
I'll get on to the counting the day by day sides and get those winners paid over the course of the week.
Love you all, and look forward to hopefully seeing you somewhere in the off season!
Best,
-DTrain
The Day 1 Reveal is complete! Excellent work by the Captains in strategizing who'll play together AND who their men will play against. At first glance, these will be very competitive matches at Old Barney. It's interesting to see the pairings because there are several of them where guys have never played together on both sides of the ledger. But you get the sense that the captains may have been trying to match up on handicaps. Whatever the strategy, it'll be determined THIS FRIDAY who's right.

Please check in on the Schedule & Results for Friday to see all 8 of the matches, the order, and the handicaps. Behave yourselves gents....only 4 more sleeps.....

To move a bit into the weekend, Captains should remember that we'll have reveals Friday night for Saturday, and again Saturday night for Sunday. We'll do the Day 2 Reveal prior to the Texas Hold 'Em game. I'd plan on starting the reveal around 7 so that we can get the card game going around 7:30. Not to be a jerk, but we'll be starting somewhere close to these times, so if you're going out to eat, keep the time in mind. There were several of you who missed the start of the card game last year. If you're not interested in Hold 'Em, feel free to check with guys who may want to play Pitch. I'm sure Raymond would partake (he's hanging with us Friday night).

2024 Startup!!!
-
Great golf played by many last season, however 4 guys were played great and were lucky enough to partner up for points. Incredible to see 4 players get 8 out of a possible 9 points! Dools getting to 8.5 is a 'Palooza record.
-
3 of the 4 Captains were Rookies, another impressive feat. All of these guys proved their games travel!
-
Your 2024 Captains are:
-
Brett Dooley and Aidan Dunn
-
Josh Balestracci and Jeremy Tanguay
-
-
There will be a couple of changes to the Trip for 2024
-
Captains will "Match Up" pairings for each day (prior method was random selections)
-
Full handicaps to be used (used 70% last year)
